Impending thunderstorms and bad weather could not dampen the spirits of the 50 Star of Hope staff, New Haven program participants and volunteers who were ready to serve those in most need during the 3rd Annual Takin’ Hope to the Streets outreach program held on October 30! The purpose of this annual event is to bring hope and peace to the lost and hurting and to share the gift of Salvation. The Lord held off the terrible weather long enough to allow eight teams (and, the Love in Action Van) to minister to the homeless in various parts of town … and He moved in a powerful way that night.
God blessed the outreach ministry with these results:
- 292 live encounters
- Distributed 450+ sack lunches
- Distributed 250 hygiene packs
- Prayed for/with 62 individuals
Perhaps the most powerful moment of the evening is the story of Patrick: Takin’ Hope to the Streets; shared by one of the team members, Cynthia Superville … a story of how the love of Christ, shown to him that night, led Patrick to rededicate his life to Him.
These life changing Star of Hope activities and programs would not be possible without the support of friends like you. Thank you for helping us be the hands and feet of Christ to take “hope to the streets!”
