Trees of HopeTree of Hope

Thank you Trees of Hope for all you do for children at Star of Hope!

“For more than 30 years, Trees of Hope has existed to raise funds and awareness for Star of Hope. We’re deeply grateful for the opportunity to help make the promise of a better life a reality for thousands of Houstonians who struggle with the burden of homelessness. We are here because we care, we believe in Star of Hope and we see the difference it is making.” — Trees of Hope – Volunteers planting seeds of hope since 1990

When Houstonians think about baseball,
the Astros have our hearts!

Each year, with the arrival of spring, we all catch Astros fever and hope for a winning season that takes us to the playoffs…and beyond! While our hometown boys are experts on the fundamentals of running, hitting and throwing a baseball, it’s the organization’s compassion for those less fortunate, that makes them our champions!

The Houston Astros Foundation has faithfully sent outstanding volunteers to Star of Hope’s Men’s Development Center. This committed group helps prepare, serve and clean-up lunch. The staff and clients very much appreciate their willing hearts, smiling faces and kind words.

As much as we love our Houston Astros, our hats are also off to a few other MLB teams! The Kansas City Royals, Washington Nationals, Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays, along with Houston Astros players and MLB umpires have served lunch at the Star of Hope Men’s Development Center through a program developed by the Houston Astros team chaplain. When there’s a home game, opposing teams will likely spend some of their free time volunteering at Star of Hope!

In addition to assisting with lunch, The Houston Astros Foundation hosts an annual Christmas banquet honoring Star of Hope clients. This occasion, held at Minute Maid Park, is always an extraordinary holiday event! Astros personnel, dressed in festive Houston Astros sweater vests, serve our clients a gourmet meal before serenading them with Christmas carols. Amid shouts of joy and squeals of delight, Orbit appears to take photos with the children! It’s an evening our families will never forget.

Not only does the Houston Astros organization lead our community in outreach and volunteerism, but they also find additional avenues for engagement through the support of collaborative partners. Christian Brothers Automotive teams up with the Houston Astros during their annual donation drive for Star of Hope. Every person who donates toiletries or diapers at a Christian Brothers Automotive location receives a free pair of Astros game tickets. Free tickets for Astros fans while helping Star of Hope meet the needs of our clients – that’s a home run for us all!

The Houston Astros continue to be a tremendous blessing to our mission and the clients we serve! With the help of fantastic community partners and volunteers – like the Houston Astros – Star of Hope is ending homelessness…one life, one family at a time.

Network Funding, LP Network Funding LP

Network Funding, LP was created in 1998 as a Texas-based wholesale mortgage lender, but quickly evolved into a hybrid retail mortgage origination company. Network’s emphasis is to create an entrepreneurial environment, which attracts highly motivated, professional loan origination personnel. Network is founded on the basis of creating such an environment where both employees and customers are always entitled to EXPECT THE BEST!

Star of Hope is grateful that the team at Network Funding, through the leadership of supporters Rex Chamberlain and Buzz Baker, carry their company goal over to our organization. Through their gift of time and gifts of treasure, Network Funding tells our clients that they, too, should expect the best! Through their many years of deep support for Star of Hope, they have enabled the work of helping people find their way, with God’s help, and transform their lives for the better.
