Star of Hope Mission Ending homelessness ... one life, one family at a time.

New Year, New Home!

Happy New Year! I hope your year is off to a great start! For many of us, a new year brings self-reflection, resolutions, and new opportunities. At Star of Hope Mission, the New Year also brings hope and a new start at life for many of our residents and Outreach clients.

Last month was very busy for the Love In Action Van as Outreach Case Manager, Kenneth Eakins worked hard to meet goals before the year came to a close. Kenneth was able to navigate seven of our Outreach clients into Permanent Supportive Housing programs all over the city!

One of our Outreach clients off to a new start is a man by the name of Clifton. With Kenneth’s help, Clifton moved into his apartment at New Hope Housing, Star of Hope’s permanent supportive housing partner. Having his own apartment to call his home has always been a dream for Clifton. Something he’s always prayed for. And it came true! This was the first time Clifton has had a place to call his own. Not only does New Hope Housing provide Clifton with the basic necessities, but it gives him confidence and a new outlook on life. Clifton has a place to live … and because of that, he is now motivated to be successful and live a better life.

From gathering documentation and finding apartments, to scheduling program intake appointments and organizing transportation, Kenneth worked tirelessly and met his goal to move 100 homeless people off the streets and into permanent housing, in time for the new year!

Thank you for helping Star of Hope provide a new start for people like Clifton. Your continuous support brings hope to the least of these and makes positive life changes possible. I am truly grateful!

Wishing you all prosperity and joy in this new year!
