Child of God

Sometimes we can become lost in the ways of the world and search for things only the Lord can provide. Through God’s glory, I have been blessed to witness His work in thousands of lives. At Star of Hope we help guide those who are lost and hurting, looking for a place to heal. For Patricia, she soon discovered that the path she was on was hurting those she loved, so she decided to make a change. This is her story:

I am a person that is in recovery by choice. I came to Star of Hope because I was sick and tired of using drugs and causing so much pain to those closest to me, including depriving my loving daughters of their mother’s love.

Star of Hope has helped me in so many ways. My entire life has changed since I’ve been here. I’ve learned about domestic violence, codependency, anger management, nicotine, and what it does to the body, mind and soul. I know I am a child of God; He is my Heavenly Father who saved me from the streets and led me to the Star of Hope to be healed. I am focused on getting better today, not putting it off until tomorrow, and I don’t need alcohol or drugs anymore.

I want to thank the staff for all their kindness, support, and unconditional love over these past few months. To the donors and volunteers, thank you for supporting and taking care of us at the Star of Hope Mission.

Patricia came to us in search of a fresh start. In the hopes of building a relationship again with her daughters. Because of supporters like you, she has now seen the beauty of God’s unconditional love. Please continue supporting Star of Hope through prayer or donating to our mission as we serve Houston’s homeless.

Thank you, and God bless!
