Teens at Star of Hope

Star of Hope teens at UH trackLaunched in September 2006, Stars of 2morrow focuses on the teenage children of single-parent families enrolled in one of Star of Hope’s life-changing family programs. It was created with the intent of providing structured programs that put strong emphasis on education and life skills to enable homeless teens to be better prepared for the challenges and demands that life brings – including those within their own families as many are the children of substance abusing parents. Since its inception the Teen Department staff has developed many programs expressly for our teenagers that target education, life skills, self-worth, interpersonal communication and leadership skills.

Our committed Teen Department staff works carefully with each teen individually and collectively and is determined to make a positive life change for every teen involved in the program. Curriculum includes various activities to be conducted in groups as well as one-on-one including a variety of hands-on activities and experiences such as college site visits, tours to community organizations, and volunteering opportunities for teens who wish to participate.

Our ultimate vision is to one-day end poverty and generational homelessness by providing teenage clients the tools that enable them to be successful and independent regardless of whether their parents have a positive outcome or not. By stressing the importance of education, by instilling positive people skills and through individual mentoring and tutoring, we expect to assist and equip them to live a thriving and successful future.

Stars of 2morrow places strong emphasis on education as a means for future success:
