Get Help Give Now

Sometimes, we overlook the courage it takes to seek help in our lives. When we fail to acknowledge this bravery, we forget to recognize the life-changing ways the Lord works in our lives. For individuals like Brittne, the decision to seek help was a courageous one, leading her to her Star of Hope and the knowledge that He is always on our side:

Growing up wasn’t easy. I was born prematurely at three months old, weighing 1 pound 2 ounces, and stayed in the NICU until I was healthy enough to return home. Unfortunately, my home life wasn’t much better, as my mother was not the most loving. Because of this, I spent most of my time with my grandmother, who allowed me to have faith.

In the past year, I began to struggle with being a single mother and juggling multiple jobs. I started having trouble finding a sitter for my children so I could support us. With no other options, I brought my children to work and let them sleep in my car. I would take naps with them, feed and change my 9-month-old baby, and return to work. I was struggling because I knew it was wrong, but I had to do whatever was necessary to take care of them, yet I still put them in a dangerous situation.

A few months later, I found Star of Hope, and I was nervous because I had never been to a shelter before. But again, I had to do what was best for my kids. I struggled for the first few weeks I was here. I was trying to fix things independently and not letting the Lord handle things for me. The Source program at Star of Hope allowed me to look at my situation differently, and although I still have some learning to do, I find comfort in knowing that He is at work through me and is always by my side, guiding me through these challenges.

With your support, Brittne and her daughters reconnected with God, and she soon plans to get a full-time job and obtain a degree in Respiratory Therapy. Thank you for allowing Brittne and many others like her to find new hope in life.
