How It Works for Sponsors
All individuals, organizations, and companies must register to participate. Sponsors will review the Recipient families available for sponsorship and choose the ONE family they wish to Sponsor (refer to the FAQ below for more information on Sponsoring more than one family).
After the Sponsor selects a Recipient family, a Star of Hope team member will respond within 3 business days to confirm your selection by phone and follow up by email with key guidelines, dates, and the Recipient Family’s contact information. Sponsors will also receive the Christmas Needs List for the children via email. Please check the spam folder for emails from gtsponsors@sohmission.org.
Sponsors connect with their Recipient family right away. This can be a phone call to confirm sponsorship, create a rapport with the Recipient family, ask more questions about the child/children’s interests, and coordinate a meet and greet, and gift delivery date and time.
Purchase Christmas gifts for each child in the family and a grocery gift card for the household. All gifts must be delivered by Sunday, December 13, 2026. Delivery locations should be mutually agreed upon, keeping in mind transportation barriers for Recipient families.
After delivery is complete, we ask that the Sponsor please email gtsponsors@sohmission.org to confirm. We want to be sure all Recipient Families receive gifts for their children in a timely manner.
We invite you to share photos and testimonies of how God worked through your experience as we pursue Christ‑centered transformation together. You may send these to gtsponsors@sohmission.org.
Why Your Partnership Matters
- Dignity Restored: Consistent support prevents setbacks that can force families back into homelessness.
- Kids Stay in School: School supplies and stable housing help children thrive academically.
- Cycle of Poverty Broken: Practical assistance gives parents space to focus on employment, counseling, and spiritual growth.
