This Saturday, July 13, (also known as 713 Day), three of Houston’s most popular radio stations will host OPERATION HYDRATION, a bottled water drive to help ease the effect of this summer’s continuous and dangerous heat wave. Radio One’s 93Q (KKBQ), The Eagle (106.9), and Majic 102.1 are reaching out to a combined audience of more than 2 million, urging their listeners to purchase a 12 pack or even a pallet of bottled water which will be donated to Star of Hope for distribution to the homeless.
Radio-One Houston Director of Operations Travis Moon is looking forward to the event. “We are driven by compassion to support those in need in Houston. Every drop counts and we are ready to work hand in hand with our listeners to bring a little hope and relief to our neighbors.”
The event will be held rain or shine from 10 AM – 6 PM at the KROGER store located at 11003 Shadow Creek Parkway in Pearland. The store plans to MATCH the days bottle collection, and radio station 93Q will be giving out concert tickets while they last.
