Mother’s Day is coming up this week … Sunday, May 14! In preparation for that, one of my favorite events for our children here at Star of Hope Mission was held last week at our Transitional Living Center for all of our moms and their children. It was a fun afternoon hosted by Trees of Hope, our affiliate guild, which has been supporting Star of Hope for more than 25 years.

After school, all the children gathered in Pinky’s Place and had a fun afternoon making crafts, taking pictures in the photo booth, and preparing picture frames decorated by the children to give their moms for Mother’s Day. For many of these children, this was the FIRST photo of themselves they had ever been able to give to their moms!

Later in the afternoon, when the moms came in, there was so much joy in the faces of the children as they presented a flower … and their decorated picture frames to their mothers. They were so proud and excited to give such a special “gift of themselves.”

Thank you for the gifts and support YOU provide to us year-round to help us serve those in need!
