Transitional Living Center for Women & Families
It was realized during the 1980’s that an emergency shelter was not enough help for many homeless individuals. They kept coming back after leaving the shelter, unable to maintain an independent life-style.
In 1988, Star of Hope Mission began the Transitional Living Center (TLC) to help prepare and train the homeless to become independent and re-enter the mainstream of society. Star of Hope is able to provide services to 66 families and 45 single women at TLC. Applicants to this intensive 12 – 18 month recovery program complete a written application and participate in a thorough screening process designed to select participants who are genuinely committed to their own recovery. read more
